QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt believes a move to Paris St Germain could still be on the cards, but knows sporting director Leonardo has doubts about him.
The Morocco international was the subject of speculation linking him with a move away from Loftus Road throughout the summer, with big-spending PSG among those mooted. Taarabt has now revealed a move to the Parc des Princes was on the cards, but that former Brazil international Leonardo put the stoppers on it.
"He [Leonardo] called Flavio Briatore, but the first thing he said was: 'Okay, but there is Adel's temper.'" Taarabt told Canal+.
"Flavio just replied: 'It is up to you to know how to manage it. We could manage it last season he helped us back into the Premier League.'
"That is just an excuse from Leonardo not to sign me because he had other priorities.
"He preferred [Jeremy] Menez, [Javier] Pastore and even wanted Ganso.
"The Qatar officials told me 'do another great six months and in January we will be back'.
"However, I am under no illusion. I know I am not Leonardo's priority."
