Sousa pleads for patience with Lopez
The Spanish midfielder, who arrived in west London as a free agent following his release by Real Mallorca, put in an impressive cameo as a substitute during Saturday's defeat at Barnsley.
"He has good quality and good delivery and he will help us, but he needs games," said Sousa.
Lopez could make his full debut when Rangers host Norwich on Tuesday night.
