Rowlands on the road back

QPR club captain Martin Rowlands is another step closer to returning from his injury nightmare. The midfielder, who has been out for 11 months after suffering a cruciate injury last October, played 70 minutes for the reserves against Tottenham - his third outing for the second string. "It's brilliant," said Rangers coach and Rowlands' former team-mate Marc Bircham. "He's had a terrible time over the last couple of years with injuries. As a mate it's great to see him back. "I hope he doesn't rush things, he has to take his time with this, get plenty of minutes under his belt for the reserves and then push on. "It's all about getting match time. It will be great for Rowly and the team when he is available again."
