Rowlands nearing return

Martin Rowlands has continued his comeback from a long injury lay-off with another appearance for QPR's reserves. The midfielder and Loftus Road club captain, who has been sidelined since last October with a cruciate injury, came through 65 minutes unscathed in the second string's 2-0 win over Ipswich. "Rowly played half an hour last week and has now stepped it up," said reserves boss Ronnie Jepson. "He did fine and there was no reaction. He looked comfortable and his match sharpness will gradually improve with game time. He was able to keep up with the pace of the game and had plenty of touches, which will do his confidence the world of good. "Encouragingly, he didn't shirk any challenges either when they were there to be made." Defender Fitz Hall played the full 90 minutes on his return from a hamstring injury. Akos Buzsaky and Peter Ramage were on target for Rangers.
