Rodgers: Only one can join lone Rangers

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers believes those chasing QPR at the top of the Championship are almost certainly competing for one automatic promotion spot, cranking up the pressure ahead of Saturday's massive clash against Norwich. Runaway leaders QPR are now nine points clear of second place with just seven matches remaining and 13 above the play-off places, likely leaving just one vacant spot in the top two. Norwich are currently in pole position ahead of Saturday's encounter at the Liberty Stadium, four points ahead of both the Swans and Cardiff, six clear of Leeds and seven above Reading. "Mathematically it is still open for both the top positions, but you'd have to say that QPR are looking good now," Rodgers told the Swansea Evening Post. He added: "They looked strong and organised against Sheffield United (in Monday's 3-0 win) and it's going to be difficult to catch them. You never say never and we will keep up the fight. But they are only going to need a few more wins, and the games are running out for everyone else. "They have been consistent for a lot of the season and they are going to be hard to stop now. But really, what we have to focus on is ourselves. We have to concentrate on getting back on the bike when we play Norwich this weekend."
