Redknapp keen on Adebayor

QPR boss Harry Redknapp would love to take Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor off his old club's hands, but admits his chances are slim.

Redknapp has already loaned Tom Carroll and Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Spurs, and striker Adebayor has been told to train with the reserves having fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane.

But the former Spurs manager admits it would be difficult to persuade the 29-year-old to drop down to the Championship.

"He'd be a great loan, that's for sure," said Redknapp.

"I don't know what will happen with him. He's a good player but it's up to Tottenham, they have lots of good players.

"He can't go on loan in the Premier League, he can only go into the Championship but whether he'd want to do that - it would be difficult I think."
