Benayoun banned for Blackpool game

QPR will be without Yossi Benayoun when they host Blackpool.

Benayoun scored Rangers' goal in their 1-0 win over Wigan on Tuesday night, but he was sent off in the closing stages and serves a one-match ban.

Boss Harry Redknapp could be further depleted in midfield after Niko Kranjcar tweaked his hamstring in the first half and Joey Barton limped off towards the end.

Fit-again right-back Danny Simpson (back) was on the bench in midweek and could be involved but Kevin Doyle (knee), Charlie Austin (shoulder), Matty Phillips, Andrew Johnson (both ankle) and Ale Faurlin (cruciate) remain on the sidelines.

Apostolos Vellios could play his first game of competitive football this season after he joined the Blackpool squad ahead of the visit.

The Everton striker moved to the Seasiders on loan on Thursday and after failing to appear at all under Roberto Martinez this season, he could make his season bow at Loftus Road.

Vellios' arrival is a timely one with Ricardo Fuller definitely out after he hobbled off in the defeat to Bolton on Tuesday and new signing Robert Earnshaw struggling for match fitness.

Defender Kirk Broadfoot is another 10 days away with a knee injury so Craig Cathcart will have to fill in at the heart of the defence once more. Meanwhile, striker Steve Davies may not play again this term because of a groin problem.
