QPR fans are rallying behind Chris Ramsey

You might think a man who has won just three of his 14 games in charge wouldn’t be a popular choice as a club’s new boss – but QPR fans are giving their backing to Chris Ramsey, who was today appointed as head coach on a permanent basis.

The 53-year-old took temporary charge of Rangers in February in the wake of Harry Redknapp’s resignation, but he could not prevent their relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

Chris Ramsey's record as QPR boss

If you were expecting opprobrium, woe and disillusionment from Rs fans though – think again.

Most are pleased to see Ramsey – who is head coach, rather than manager, to Les Ferdinand’s director of football – get the chance to rebuild in the Championship.

And some former QPR players were backing him too.

Plenty of fans were clearly none-too-thrilled at the appointment, but decided to take a pragmatic view.

And to anyone saying they wouldn’t renew their season tickets now, there was this message.
