QPR close in on Folan loan deal
Folan has only recently returned from a loan spell at Middlesbrough and Hull are ready to let the Republic of Ireland international go out on loan again.[LNB]Former Wigan man Folan saw his time at Middlesbrough interrupted by injury with the powerful frontman making just one appearance for the Teesside outfit.[LNB]Folan is now back to full fitness and QPR boss Paul Hart is keen to lure him to Loftus Road as he looks to bolster his attacking options.[LNB]Folan's agent Hayden Evans has confirmed Hull are happy to loan out the 27-year-old and a deal has been agreed between both clubs.[LNB]"Hull have advised us they are happy to loan out Caleb," Evans told skysports.com[LNB]"The two clubs have agreed a loan deal and now just a few details need to be finalised.[LNB]"Caleb was unfortunate with injury at Middlesbrough, but he is now fully fit again."[LNB]Folan could be joined by Hull team-mate Daniel Cousin at Loftus Road with Hart also keen on bringing the Gabon international to the West London club on loan.[LNB]Brown said: "There is interest for Daniel Cousin and Caleb Folan.[LNB]"Daniel Cousin is on African Nations duty and it is very difficult for him to come back and sign papers.[LNB]"Until that happens then there won't be a deal on the table, regardless of what anyone else says.[LNB]"Caleb has expressed a desire to leave the football club and we have agreed to it."[LNB]Brown pointed out, however, that Republic of Ireland international Folan has not handed in an official transfer request.[LNB]Two other players, Kevin Kilbane and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, have also been linked with loan moves this week.[LNB]Kilbane is reported to be interesting Wolves while Vennegoor of Hesselink is said to be a target for Middlesbrough.[LNB]Brown accepts the financial constraints placed on him by chairman Adam Pearson and admits other departures are inevitable.[LNB]"I can't do anything else but accept it," Brown said. "He is the man in charge and if that is the deal I will try and get on with it.[LNB]"We have got some good players here. Every manager wants a big squad that can compete at this level and cope with two or three games in a week.[LNB]"You need a big squad but there has been interest in a number of players at our football and we are considering each interest on its merits."[LNB]Brown, however, would like to bring in new faces if he gets the opportunity.[LNB]"Depending on what we can move out then possibly a striker and one or two other positions as well," he said, when asked which areas he would like to strengthen.[LNB]Brown claimed he had no interest in Freddy Adu despite suggestions from the United States international on Twitter the club had made him an offer before he signed for Greek side Aris.[LNB]"It was press speculation and I don't know where it came from," said Brown. "I was very surprised."[LNB]Brown could be given a lift before the end of January by talismanic midfielder Jimmy Bullard, who is on track in his recovery from the knee injury suffered last month.[LNB]Brown said: "When Jimmy first got injured I was hopeful he would play some part in a January game.[LNB]"If that's true it would be fantastic. At this moment in time we are probably looking at the back end of January."[LNB]Brown's immediate concern is Saturday's daunting Premier League clash against leaders Chelsea.[LNB]Hull have struggled to find somewhere to train this week due to the severe weather.[LNB]Their own snowbound training ground has been out of action and plans to use the KC Stadium had to be scrapped today because of fresh snow.[LNB]The indoor pitch at the neighbouring Gemtec Arena was used instead.[LNB]"It's chaotic," Brown said. "We'd like to boast in the next 18 months a new training ground complex but until that day arrives we haven't got indoor facilities.[LNB]"It has been very difficult but the lads have come together and are enjoying it because it is different.[LNB]"It is not the same old trudge or mundane training sessions every day."[LNB]There are fears the game itself could become another casualty of the winter if the weather takes another turn for the worse.[LNB]The KC Stadium pitch will be playable due to undersoil heating but the surrounding areas could become a problem.[LNB]Brown added: "There is an army of people working around the clock trying to clear the car park and terraces.[LNB]"It is important to try to get this game on on Saturday."[LNB]Brown has also made official his interest in Manchester City forward Felipe Caicedo.[LNB]The Ecuador international could be available if his current loan at Sporting Lisbon is cut short.[LNB]Brown said: "We have expressed an interest in Felipe Caicedo to Manchester City and are awaiting a response."[LNB][LNB]
