The Loftus Road side finished a disappointing 11th last term and the owners attracted criticism for chopping and changing managers before turning to former Ipswich boss Jim Magilton. "We were quite hands on in making sure we picked the person who we thought would do exactly the right job and was best suited," he told the club's website. "We have learned from our mistakes over the last year. "We are very excited about Jim. He is very positive and very polished and I think he is the man and I think we will have a great season. "When we do have all of our first team fit then it is a pretty formidable team so I am extremely excited about it. It is going to be an extremely important season for us and everybody understands that."
