Parker targets first-team spot

QPR's Josh Parker is keen to nail down a permanent first-team spot after being given a second chance at the club. The midfielder thought his chance of making it at Rangers were over after a month on loan with AFC Wimbledon in January, where he made just two appearances on the bench. "I lost quite a bit of passion for the game," the 19-year-old told the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle. "I thought, if I'm not going to play at Wimbledon, I've got no chance of succeeding at QPR. I'm just never going to play here. My confidence was at an all-time low." However, Rangers boss Neil Warnock was impressed by the raw pace Parker showed in reserve games and gave him another chance in the form of a one-year contract. "The boss has been brilliant with me," Parker added. "He's always giving me advice and encouraging me to keep listening to him and to keep improving. I'd like to be the sort of player fans look to to bring a bit of magic."
