QPR defender Max Ehmer has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Loftus Road until 2016.

The 20-year-old German has been at QPR since 2003 and progressed through the youth system, although he is yet to make his first-team debut for the Rs. Ehmer has played on loan at both Yeovil and Preston and, after training with the first-team in pre-season, he is now hoping to make the step up into manager Mark Hughes' squad on a regular basis

"I'm really pleased," he told qpr.co.uk "It's an amazing feeling to be signing a new deal at such an exciting time in the club's future."

He added: "This summer has been my first proper involvement with the first team and I've enjoyed every moment. I've been in and around the first team over the last few years and now I want to step that up a level."
