Mackie desperate to get back among goals

QPR striker Jamie Mackie is confident he can end his recent goal drought after opening his account for Scotland this week.

The 25-year-old hit eight goals in his first eight games for Rangers, despite playing predominantly on the right wing, but has not found the net in his last 10 outings. However, he bagged Scotland's third in their 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands on Tuesday night and hopes the floodgates have opened.

"If you look at the last few weeks I've played in a variety of positions and not necessarily got forward as much as I'd have liked," said the former Plymouth frontman.

"I haven't played up front all season, only on the right. I'll look to keep playing well and the goals will arrive."
