Fitz Hall has been appointed QPR's captain ahead of the new season.
The giant centre-half's days at Loftus Road appeared to be numbered when he was loaned out to Newcastle at the end of last term, but manager Neil Warnock has been delighted by his pre-season performances.
"I've been hugely impressed with Fitz since he returned this summer and I just like the idea of my skipper being someone who can see the whole game from the back," said Warnock.
"His leadership qualities are second to none and he's an inspirational figure in the dressing room."
Midfielder Martin Rowlands, who is continuing to battle back from a serious knee injury, remains club captain.
