Esteban Granero's agent has confirmed the midfielder features on a list of high-profile players to be axed from Queens Park Rangers this summer.
Following their relegation from the Premier League, owner Tony Fernandes admitted Harry Redknapp's squad would have to be radically reduced, in order to trim the club's wage bill.
The pair held a meeting in April to discuss who should be sold, loaned or released, and Granero's agent, Teo Lazaro, has now revealed that the former Spain Under-21 international was one of the players listed.
"QPR will have to part ways with a number of highly paid players following their relegation from the Premier League," he told Russian newspaper Izvestia.
"Among those players listed is the name of my client. Basically, we have to find a new club."
According to the same media outlet, Rubin Kazan is a likely destination for the 25-year-old, who see him as the ideal replacement for their playmaker Roman Eremenko, believed to be on his way to the Bundesliga with Schalke.
Granero, who cost £8.5 million from Real Madrid, was one of 18 players bought by QPR during the last campaign, but he looks set to be joined by a number of those imports in exiting the club.
Julio Cesar has been strongly linked with Arsenal in the past week, while the contract of Jermaine Jenas is understood to include a clause allowing him to leave for free, now that the club has been relegated.
It is also thought loan suitors will be sought for Ji-Sung Park as he enters the final year of his contract.
Rumour continues to surround the future of most other squad members and is likely to do so until the transfer window ends.
