Glenn Hoddle statement on his departure from QPR - and the exit of Harry Redknapp

GLENN Hoddle has released a statement on his departure as first team coach at QPR, joining manager Harry Redknapp through the exit door at Loftus Road.

Hoddle, who was appointed in August, says he is "shocked and surprised" and remains convinced that Redknapp could have "turned it around" as Rangers fight for survival in the Premier League.

It was Hoddle's first active role in club coaching since he left as manager of Wolves in 2006 and he says he thanked Redknapp for the opportunity to step back into the coaching arena.
