The Argentinian midfielder, Rangers' £3.5million summer signing, is close to full fitness following a thigh injury and could make the bench at Ashton Gate. Skipper Martin Rowlands is still sidelined with the ankle injury he suffered on the opening day of the season but the problem is not as serious as first feared and the midfielder could be back in the next couple of weeks. Winger Lee Cook is the only other injury absentee as he continues his recovery from summer knee surgery. Rowan Vine, Patrick Agyemang and Damion Stewart will push for starts should Magilton opt to shuffle his pack following Saturday's 1-1 draw at Plymouth.
