QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has expressed his delight at signing a two-year contract extension at the club.

The 24-year-old Argentinian, who joined Rangers from Institute for £3.5million in the summer of 2009, put pen to paper on a deal which ties him to Loftus Road until 2014.

Faurlin claims the ambition of the club and the support of fans made up his mind to sign on the dotted line.

He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed a new deal. I have really enjoyed my time here and I wanted to ensure my long-term future is with QPR.

"We have made a fantastic start to the season and we have a great desire and ambition to achieve things over the next few years."

He added: "The fans have been great since I arrived here. The English supporters - and the QPR fans in particular - are among the best in the world and I hope I can repay their support by continuing to improve over the course of the next few seasons."
