Balanta at the double for R's
The 19-year-old was deployed as a left winger but managed to grab both Rangers goals in a 2-2 draw in Slovenia.
Balanta told the club's official website: "I was delighted. It's nice to score, but to bag a brace was excellent.
"Pre-season is a great chance for us all to impress the new gaffer and hopefully I've shown him glimpses of what I'm capable of with those two goals."
New £3.5million midfielder Alejandro Faurlin made his first appearance in a Rangers shirt and impressed boss Jim Magilton.
"He hasn't played for a while so I was delighted with his display," said Magilton.
