Doonhamers wait on four

Queen of the South will hand fitness tests to Andy Dowie, Mark Kerr, Michael Paton and Iain Russell ahead of the visit of Falkirk.

The Doonhamers are out to dent Falkirk's title chances and enhance their own play-off hopes.

Manager Jim McIntyre said: "I watched Falkirk last Saturday against Cowdenbeath and they put in a very strong performance. They have pace and energy, however we beat them down at our place in the last game there so we know that can do it.

"Dumbarton have cut our lead to three points and the best way to respond to that is by winning this game."

Falkirk miss top goalscorer Rory Loy through a ban as they look to keep in close contact with Hamilton and Dundee at the top.

Kieran Duffie's foot injury keeps him out and Thomas Grant is again absent through illness.

Technical director Alex Smith said: "Queen of the South are a very organised side who have something to aim for so that makes them extremely dangerous opponents.

"Our win and the draw with the top two helped us last week however if we are to really get in amongst things at the top of the table then we have to win difficult games such as this."
