Clark back for Queen's

Queen of the South entertain Alloa a week after knocking holders St Johnstone out of the Scottish Cup and on-loan Perth goalkeeper Zander Clark is available after missing last Saturday's tie.

Mark Millar also returns after being cup-tied, with Mark Durnan and Ian McShane expected to pass fitness tests and be included.

Manager James Fowler said: "Alloa will get the same respect that St Johnstone received as winning this game will keep us in the top four. They have strengthened their attacking options and we have to be wary of them.

"We have to show that we can win games where we are not the underdogs."

Alloa head to Palmerston Park without the suspended duo of skipper Ben Gordon and Ryan McCord, while Stephen Simmons is struggling to be fit with a back injury.

Manager Barry Smith is tempted to give recent signings Isaac Layne and Calaum Jahraldo-Martin their first starts in a bid to turn chances into goals.

Smith explained: "Our last game was a goalless draw with Livingston. It was good as we kept a clean sheet but disappointing as we never scored. We are creating chances but not taking them and that is frustrating.

"Hopefully we can change that in this game, but we recognise that Queen's are a more than decent side."
