Winston Reid Biography

A strong and powerful defender who spent his second season with West Ham United in 2011-12. Winston, who has been used at both right back and centre back, was included in the team until dislocating a shoulder in September. He was out for three months and soon after returning was again ruled out with concussion. Winston was back in action before the end of the season and featured in all three play-off games. Winston represented Denmark at U19, U20 and U21 levels by virtue of holding Danish citizenship but later switched his allegiance to the country of his birth, New Zealand, and appeared for the All Whites in their 2010 World Cup finals campaign.
