Tom Heaton is a goalkeeper who joined Cardiff City in the summer of 2010. Tom began 2010-11 as second-choice ‘keeper for the Bluebirds but took over the jersey from David Marshall in September.

Although he later missed games through injury he received the club’s Young Player of the Year award in May. Tom was on Wrexham’s books as a youngster before beginning a scholarship with Manchester United where he featured on the first-team bench without breaking into the side.

He made over 60 senior appearances in loan spells elsewhere, notably with Royal Antwerp, Rochdale and Wycombe Wanderers.

He was released by United at the end of the 2009-10 campaign and subsequently joined Cardiff. Tom has been capped for England at U21 level.
