Steven Caulker Biography
A product of the Tottenham Hotspur Academy who has developed as a centre back during loan spells away from White Hart Lane.
After a season playing for the U18s he spent 2009-10 at Yeovil Town where he was a near ever-present. Steven was given his first-team debut for Spurs when he played in the Carling Cup tie against Arsenal in September 2010 and later the same month moved on loan to Bristol City where he produced some outstanding performances in the npower Championship.
He is a cool and calm central defender who makes time and space for himself, which enables him to distribute the ball accurately to his colleagues. In July 2011 he joined Barclays Premier League newcomers Swansea City on a season-long loan to continue his football development.
He overcame an early injury to become a mainstay in the line-up during his stay. He continued to feature for England U21s during the season and in the summer gained further representative honours as a member of the Great Britain squad at the Olympics.
