Steve Howard is a big, old-fashioned-style centre forward who was signed by Leicester City in January 2008. Steve began his career playing for Tow Law Town before joining Hartlepool in the summer of 1995. Spells with Northampton, Luton and Derby followed as he established a reputation as an effective front man who could score goals. He signed for the Foxes in January 2008 as the club made a bid to stave off the threat of relegation. However, despite Steve hitting six goals, including a hat-trick at West Bromwich Albion, City took the drop to League One. Steve played a big part in the Foxes promotion success in 2008-09 and remains a regular member of the squad, although he missed several weeks at the beginning of 2011 with an ankle injury.
