Simon Mignolet is a tall, young goalkeeper who joined Sunderland in the 2010 close season. He has previously spent five years playing in Belgium for his hometown club, Sint Truidense VV, where he earned a reputation as a promising talent. His form at club level earned him his first full caps for Belgium during the campaign. On 25 June 2013, Mignolet signed with Liverpool for a fee of £9m on a five-year deal. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers hailed Mignolet as being "one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League"
