    Shelton Martis Biography

    A tall and commanding centre back, Shelton Martis joined Doncaster Rovers in January 2009 from West Bromwich Albion.

    Shelton    , who has been capped by the Netherlands Antilles, had previously played for Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven and Hibernian amongst others. He enjoyed a brief but successful loan spell with Rovers in 2008-09.

    Shelton     had a frustrating, stop-start season in 2010-11, despite being one of Sean O'Driscoll's first choices when fit.

    He was troubled by a hamstring problem, then suffered a bad ankle injury in January that kept him out for over two months.

    Shelton    , who played at right back on several occasions, will need further surgery on his ankle and will miss the start of the 2011-12 campaign.
