Shaun Barker Biography

Shaun Barker is a solid defender who signed for Derby County in the summer of 2009 and produced consistent performances to earn him the Supporters' Player of the Year award at the end of his first season with the club.

Shaun is a tall and quick centre back who began his career at Rotherham United and later had three seasons at Blackpool. He missed the 2010-11 pre-season while recovering from knee surgery but was back for the opening day of the campaign, coming off the bench to play a key part in the win at Leeds.

Shaun played regularly throughout the campaign and was subsequently appointed club captain for the 2011-12 season.
