Shane Ferguson Biography

Shane Ferguson is a young left-sided player who joined Newcastle United as a scholar in July 2007 having previously been attached to Derry City.

Although he has mainly been used as a left back he is equally at home in a more advanced role as a left winger. Shane is a gifted player who gets up the flank to support the attack.

He progressed through the U18s and reserves before making his first-team debut for Newcastle when he played in the Carling Cup victory at Accrington Stanley in August 2010.

Shane went on to make his Barclays Premier League debut against West Ham United in January and has since added further first-team appearances.

Shane has represented Northern Ireland at U17, U19 and U21 levels and made his full international debut at the age of 17 when he appeared as a substitute against Italy in June 2009.
