Sebastien Squillaci is a central defender who joined Arsenal from Sevilla in the summer of 2010. An experienced player he was signed to fill a gap left by the departure of several other centre backs in the summer of 2010. Sebastien is effective in the air and poses a danger when joining in with the attack. An early-season injury to Thomas Vermaelen saw him step into the breach and he partnered Laurent Koscielny in the heart of the defence in the first half of the campaign, featuring less regularly thereafter. Sebastien spent his early career in France with Toulon, Monaco and Lyon before moving to Sevilla in the summer of 2008. He won his first full cap for France in August 2004 and was a member of the squad for the World Cup finals in South Africa in 2010. © 2011 - PFA Player Profiles
