Sean Clohessy is a right back who joined Southend United in July 2010. He was originally with Arsenal as an academy player but turned professional with Gillingham in 2006.

He had been loaned to Salisbury City in September 2008 and eventually joined the Wiltshire club permanently in the 2009-10 campaign when he had an outstanding campaign.

When former Salisbury manager Tommy Widdrington joined Southend United as assistant to Paul Sturrock, Sean jumped at the chance to return to the League with the Shrimpers.

Sean enjoyed an excellent first season at Roots Hall featuring in every League Two fixture and turning in a series of solid, consistent displays. He was rewarded with an extension to his contract in the summer.
