Sam Deering is a young midfield player who joined Barnet on loan in February 2011 later signing permanently for the Bees.

Sam developed in the academy at Oxford United and progressed through to the first team being involved in their Conference play-off victory at Wembley in May 2010.

He was unable to win a regular place with the Us in 2010-11 and after a loan spell with Newport County he moved to Underhill.

Sam's performances quickly won over the Bees' supporters and he played regularly in the final months of the season.

He scored two goals, both after coming on as a second half substitute against Chesterfield in March when the Bees came back from 2-0 down to draw.

Sam's second goal in the game earned him Barnet's Goal of the Season award.

He was also Young Player of the Year for the Bees and in May 2011 became the first permanent signing for new manager Lawrie Sanchez.
