Sam Saunders is an attacking midfielder who was one of three players to switch from Dagenham & Redbridge to join Brentford in the summer of 2009. Sam plays on the right flank and is effective in creating chances both in open play and at set pieces. He started his career at Queen's Park Rangers but was unable to break through into first-team football. Sam then played in non-league, helping Dagenham win promotion into the Football League in 2007 and establishing himself as a key player for the Daggers. He was given few chances by Brentford in the opening half of 2010-11 but played more regularly after Christmas.
