Ryan Bertrand Biography
A left-sided player for Chelsea, who made his debut for the club in April 2011 against Birmingham City.
This came after six years at Stamford Bridge and over 150 senior appearances whilst out on loan at a total of five different Football League clubs.
An attacking full back blessed with great athleticism, Ryan caused something of a surprise when he started in the 2012 Champions League final against Bayern Munich, after previously making a handful of first-team starts for the Blues, but the move proved a success and he contributed to a successful evening, gaining a winners’ medal.
An England U21 international of some experience, Ryan also represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympic Games and received his first senior England call-up in August 2012.
