Ross Turnbull Biography

Ross Turnbull is a goalkeeper who joined Chelsea from Middlesbrough in the 2009 close season.

A product of the academy system at the Riverside Stadium, Ross had played most of his senior football out on loan before the departure of Mark Schwarzer in the summer of 2008 left him in competition with Brad Jones for the 'keeper's jersey.

Ross was first choice for the first half of the 2008-09 campaign before losing his place in the side and at the end of the season opted for a move to Stamford Bridge.

An England U20 international, Ross made his debut for the Blues in October 2009 when he came off the bench as a substitute for Hilario in a Carling Cup tie against Bolton, while his first start came in the Champions’ League fixture with Apoel Nicosia in December of the same year.
