Ronnie Stam is a defender who joined Wigan Athletic from the Eredivisie champions FC Twente in the summer of 2010. Ronnie mainly plays at right back where he has proved an attack-minded player who can cause havoc to opposing teams down the flank. He made regular appearances in the first half of 2010-11 but lost his place in January and made just one further start. He began his senior career at NAC Breda in his native Netherlands.
