Roman Pavlyuchenko Biography

Roman Pavlyuchenko is a striker who joined Tottenham Hotspur from Spartak Moscow in August 2008.

A prolific scorer in his days with Spartak, Roman starred for Russia at Euro 2008 when he was named in the UEFA team of the tournament. Roman featured regularly for Spurs in his first season, appearing in the team defeated by Manchester United in the Carling Cup final, although he only managed five Premier League goals.

He fired in a similar goals tally in 2009-10 before establishing himself as a regular in the senior team during 2010-11 finishing as second-top scorer with 10 goals in the Premier League plus another four in the Champions’ League.

Roman remains a regular for Russia at international level having won over 40 caps.

He has a good scoring record for his country and hit his first hat-trick in the victory over Armenia in June 2011.
