Richard Lambert Biography

Rickie Lambert has been a talismanic figure in Southampton’s revival over the past two seasons. Combining the attributes of a traditional centre forward with those of a modern target man, he is as adept at identifying and creating scoring opportunities for team mates as he is for himself. He has a powerful presence in the air, on the ground and with a dead ball – having had shots clocked at 80 mph. Rickie signed from Bristol Rovers in August 2009, having enjoyed two free-scoring seasons as a Pirate. He was again top scorer for Saints in 2010-11, leading the charge to the Championship, and he has now hit over 150 Football League goals during his career.
