    Richard Dunne Biography

Richard Dunne is an experienced defender who joined Aston Villa in August 2009.

Richard quickly settled into the side, winning popularity amongst supporters thanks to his fearsome tackling and aerial dominance. Playing as a central defender he has also become useful when moving up into attack for dead-ball situations.

A near ever-present since joining Villa, he again produced a series of consistent performances in 2010-11. Richard made his senior debut as a 17-year-old for Everton, then spent nine years with Manchester City, making over 350 first-team appearances before joining Villa.

He has featured regularly for the Republic of Ireland since making his debut in April 2000 and has now won more than 60 caps.
