Riccy Scimeca is a defensive central midfield player for Cardiff City who is effective in the tackle and covers his colleagues well.

Signed early in 2006, he was a regular in the team up until the end of the 2006-07 season, after which he was affected by injuries.

Riccy, who began his senior career in the Midlands with Aston Villa, made a welcome return to first-team action for the Bluebirds when he came on as a substitute in the closing stages of the Carling Cup tie with Bristol Rovers in August 2009 but added only a handful more appearances before announcing his retirement as a player in December 2009.
