Rafael van der Vaart Biography
Rafael van der Vaart is an experienced midfield player who
joined Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid in September 2010.
Rafael is an
attacking player with an eye for goal who plays just off the main striker. He
scored regularly for Spurs throughout his first season at the club finishing
with a double-figure total from midfield.
Rafael made his name playing for Ajax
in his home country of Holland and later spent time with SV Hamburg before
joining Real Madrid. He has regularly made international appearances for the
Netherlands and has reached the landmark figure of 90 caps for his country.
He appeared in all three of the group matches in the 2010 World Cup finals but then lost his place in the starting line-up, although he later saw action in both the semi-final and final after being introduced from the substitutes' bench.
