Pereira Neves Denilson

Pereira Neves Denilson

Pereira Neves Denilson Biography

Denilson is a central midfield player who signed for Arsenal in August 2006.

Generally used as a holding midfielder, his strength is built on a short passing game, although he has a powerful shot as his occasional goals from outside the area reveal.

Denilson gradually established himself in the side after joining from Brazilian club Sao Paulo as a teenager and he was a consistent starter during the course of the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons.

However, following the rise of Jack Wilshere he fell out of favour in 2010-11 when he made just six Premier League starts and he returned to Sao Paulo in a season-long loan arrangement for 2011-12.

A former captain of Brazil's U20s, Denilson is yet to be capped at full international level.
