Michel Salgado is an experienced defender who signed for Blackburn Rovers during the summer 2009 transfer window.

A tough tackling, committed right back, effective when pushing forward, he initially faced competition for a first-team slot from Lars Jacobsen. However, he established himself in the line-up from early 2010 and was a near ever-present in 2010-11.

Michel spent his formative years with Celta Vigo before a move to Real Madrid where he enjoyed a decade, mostly as a regular first-team player, winning four La Liga titles during his stay.

Michel won 53 caps for Spain between 1998 and 2006 and was a member of his country’s squad for the 2006 World Cup finals.
