Michael Collins, a midfielder, transferred to Scunthorpe United prior to the start of the 2010-11 season. 

The Iron's manager at the time, Nigel Adkins, put a lot of time and energy into acquiring the services of the highly rated central-midfielder from Huddersfield Town. Since then, Michael has spent much of his time battling to cement a regular spot in the Scunthorpe starting eleven. 

At times, he looked like a genuinely outstanding player - such as when he scored for the Iron in their FA Cup tie with Everton in January. 

Yet it would be fair to say that he has so far struggled to replicate this type of performance on a consistent basis in North Lincolnshire.
