Micah Richards

Micah Richards is a powerfully built defender for Manchester City.

Micah played for Leeds and Oldham as a junior, before signing for City as a 14-year-old. After progressing well in the academy team, he made his Premier League debut at the age of 16.

It was not long before he had established himself as a regular in the starting line-up, and by the time he was 21 he had already played in over 100 Premier League games. Despite managerial changes and the arrival of many significant signings, Micah has continued to be an important member of the City squad and in 2010-11 he made 18 League starts as the Blues qualified for the Champions’ League.

He also made a significant contribution to the 2011 FA Cup run when he netted the only goal of the closely fought quarter-final with Reading and went on to gain a Cup winners’ medal in May.

Micah won his first full cap for England against the Netherlands in November 2006, and has since made further appearances for his country.
