Max Clayton is a promising young striker who spent the 2010-11 season as a first- year scholar with Crewe Alexandra. Max progressed from the U18s to the reserves and by February was training with the first-team squad. Max is a player with good technique and is an excellent finisher. He made his Football League debut when he came on as a substitute against Morecambe in April 2011 at the age of just 16 and made a further appearance from the bench at Wycombe Wanderers. Max appeared five times for England U16s during 2009-10 and in 2010-11 was a regular in the national U17 team winning 15 caps.
