Martin Woods is a left-sided midfield player who joined Doncaster Rovers in the summer of 2007. A former trainee with Leeds, he later played for Sunderland and Rotherham, where he established himself in first-team football. Martin previously represented Scotland at U17, U19 and U21 levels. After an impressive 2009-10, Martin started the 2010-11 season in confident style but after October he was sidelined by a groin injury. He made a brief return in January only to have further groin problems which eventually ended his season. His injury troubles have now been related to a hip problem which will require further surgery and cause him to miss the start of 2011-12.
