Marouane Chamakh Biography
A striker who signed for Arsenal in the summer of 2010. A hard working, intelligent target man his height makes him effective in the air.
Marouane was particularly impressive in the early part of the 2010-11 campaign, but he was less prominent in the second half of the season when he was often on the bench. He had less involvement in the first team in 2011-12 when he missed time through injury and also while on international duty in the Africa Cup of Nations finals in the New Year.
His only goal came in the 4-3 loss at Blackburn in September, while his solitary Barclays Premier League start came against Stoke the following month.
Marouane arrived at the Emirates Stadium after a lengthy spell with Bordeaux where he had made over 250 appearances and was a member of the team that won a domestic double of the League and League Cup in 2008-09.
He represents Morocco at international level and after making his debut in June 2003 he had won 62 caps by the summer of 2012.
