Marcus Bent Biography
Marcus Bent is an experienced striker who signed for
Birmingham City in July 2008. Powerful in the air, he holds up the ball well
and is effective at creating chances for his colleagues.
In his first season at
St Andrew’s Marcus was a regular in the matchday squad, although he often
appeared as a substitute, coming off the bench to boost the attack.
However,
when the club returned to the Premier League he did not feature in the
first-team plans and he spent much of the time out on loan.
Marcus was at
Wolves and Sheffield United in 2010-11, but although he made a number of
appearances for the Blades, he returned to the Midlands early after the club
decided they wished to promote the younger players on the staff.
He began his
career as a trainee with Brentford and has since gone on to accumulate more
than 500 senior appearances. Marcus was out of contract in the summer of 2011
and left St Andrew’s to seek a new club.
