Luke O'Neill Biography
Luke O’Neill is a composed young right back who was on the books of Leicester City in 2010-11. Luke developed in the club’s academy set-up, signing his first professional contract in September 2008. He made his senior debut in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Hartlepool soon afterwards, but he had to wait almost a year for another taste of first-team football, being selected in the starting line-up for the Carling Cup tie at Macclesfield. He then made his League bow coming on as a second half substitute in the Boxing Day fixture at home to Sheffield United. Luke gained further experience on loan with Tranmere Rovers in 2009-10. He found it difficult to break into the squad in 2010-11 and after spending time on loan with Kettering he was released in the summer. Luke signed for Mansfield Town for the 2011-12 season.
